This was the first song I wrote for 'Conflicted'. It is the only song on the CD driven by a Grand Piano, and is about how a friend's poor relationship with her father has - at least in my eyes - impacted her life.
I had just moved to LA in May 2008, and I was thinking about some of my friends from St Louis.
And I started thinking about one girl in particular. Beautiful, sweet girl...perhaps the one person I've had the best chemistry with.
But she always seemed troubled and haunted by something from her past.
She seemed perpetually sad deep behind her beautiful smile. I think it's because she never found her...
